The further look into ‘demons’ is quite enlightening and, in fact, dovetails into my (perceived) impressions that the evil one’s most prominent trait is insidiousness. To encourage pursuit of perceived benefits of greed vs the alternative.
‘To distribute destinies’ has much more meaning than demons…. Very interesting.
My husband spent a year of his military career at a remote site in Turkey. Not only did he step back in time a couple of hundred years, he was befriended and went to eat with Turkish friends. First rule was to never ask what was served and they all ate out of the same bowl.
Oh, that one’s name is listed in His book of Life! That is the culmination of God’s grace to His creation, isn’t it?
It’s good to be reminded of our greatest role as a believer, to follow the example of first, the 12, and then the 70, to be continued by all of us until the new Heavens and Earth are manifested. We will not always be well received; in fact, if we are? We have to question our message being of us, not our Father. We know God’s truth will not be accepted in our fallen world by the multitudes, only the few.
I am continuing to learn that the replies and reactions we get should not be taken too seriously. The ground needs to be broken before the seeds can effectively plant and grow. Early reactions might just be the defensive response of Mankind to the plow. When the seed takes hold they may find more value in the process. (Or so I hope and pray!)
Either way - i can only do what I have been enabled and empower to do - the rest belongs to the Lord - Who would that none perish!!
I pray that denying myself and following Him is a daily choice that will get easier and easier. In the meantime I am beyond words grateful for my name being written in The Book of Life. Thank you Lord for your grace and being patient with us while we learn.
All it took for us - for any of us - is the simple humility to recognize our need to be ransomed from captivity to sin and the death that comes from it!
